Professor Martine Gilard was Director of the Interventional Cardiology Department at Brest University Hospital, France. She also oversed the Cardiac Imaging Unit, including multislice CT (MSCT) and cardiac MRI. Her clinical expertise focuses on intracoronary imaging and coronary physiology. Within her department, she performed the full spectrum of structural heart interventions—except for left atrial appendage closure. Prof. Gilard served as President of the French Society of Cardiology in 2020 and has been elected President Elect of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI). She is the Chair of the ESC Council on Valvular Heart Disease.
