Giuseppe Tarantini obtained his PhD degree in Cardiological Sciences in 2005 and became the scientific director of the Interventional Cardiology Research program of University of Parma School of Medicine in 2008. In 2013 he was appointed as Associate Professor. He has promoted more than 60 observational registries and clinical trials. He published more than 530 original papers, reviews and editorials in peer-reviewed journals and 14 book chapters and textbooks in cardiology. He is member of the editorial board of 7 international journals in cardiovascular medicine.
In 2016 he took up his current position as Director of the Interventional Cardiology Unit at the Department of Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular Sciences and public Health of Padua University, performing both coronary and structural interventional cardiology procedures.
From 2021 he is the past President of the Italian Society of Interventional Cardiology–GISE. Moreover, he is a member of the leading International Cardiology societies and active member of the related working groups and revisor of latest European Guidelines of valvular heart disease. From 2021 he was nominated the Chair of the Scientific Document and Initiatives Committee of the EAPCI.
