Dr. Sánchez-Recalde is the Director of the Interventional Cardiology Unit of the University Hospital Ramón y Cajal, Madrid (Spain) from 2019 and also the Director of the Interventional Cardiology Units of Sanitas Zarzuela and Moraleja hospital from 2014.

He undertook his Medical Internship at the Department of Cardiology of La Paz University Hospital (Spain) and St George’s University Hospital (UK) and his Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at La Paz University Hospital (2003-2004). He worked in the Interventional Cardiology Unit and held the position of the Director of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Unit in La Paz University Hospital (Spain) (2004-2018).

Among the main areas of interest highlight structural and congenital heart interventions, like mitral and tricuspid interventions, TAVI, PVL occlusion, complex congenital heart interventions, and also his research has been focused on this field, with more than 200 publications in peer-reviewed journals, as well as 25 Awards for best works in scientific meetings.
